About NDA - National Defence Academy The National Defence Academy(NDA) is the Joint Services Academy of the Indian Armed Forces. It is located at Khadakwasla near Pune. Here cadets of the three services, the Army, the Navy and the Air Force train together before they go on to respective service academies for further pre-commissioning training. UPSC conducts a written test from where applicants to the NDA are selected for the second stage of SSB Interviews conducted by Ministry of Defence. The written test is will be conducted twice a year -April and Nov. About 4,50,000 applicants appear for each written exam. About 6,500 candidates are called for SSB interview. Finally, about 400 candidates are recommended. Only unmarried male/female candidates are eligible for NDA & NA Examination. Cadets who are accepted and successfully complete the program are sent to their respective training academies for one year of training before granting of commission: Air Force Cadets go to Air Force Academy(AFA) at Dundigal, Hyderabad, Army cadets to Indian Military Academy(IMA) at Dehradun and Naval Cadets to Indian Naval Academy(INA), Ezhimala, Kerala. NDA Stage 2 : SSB Interview (Intelligence & Personality Test [900 Marks]. NDA SSB Interview is a five-day process held at Indian Armed Force selection centres. NDA SSB day 1 comprises Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PPDT) and Officer Intelligence Rating Test (OIR). Shortlisted candidates on day 1 are retained at the selection centre for the next four days. The further NDA interview process comprises Psychology Tests, Group Testing Officers Task (GTO), and Personal Interview and Conference of NDA selection process.
